Baby Bouncer Chair

Types of Baby Bouncers

A common problem facing parents and caretakers of newborn infants and young babies is getting them to stop crying. A baby bouncer is a very popular, as well as transportable, way of calming a baby when nothing else, such as feeding him or her, putting him or her down for a nap, or rocking him or her to sleep, will do.

There are two basic types of baby bouncer available to parents of newborns and babies. The first resembles a reclined chair in which the baby lies. On top of the baby is an arch-shaped fixture from which hangs a number of figures and toys that the baby can watch and play with.

This type of baby bouncer seat or chair  contains a motor which, when turned on, vibrates the chair, lulling the baby into sleep or helping to calm him or her down. These chair-like baby bouncers can be transported somewhat easily; they do not fully collapse but because of their small size, they can be easily moved.

The second type of baby bouncer on the market hangs from a doorway or room separator. Two arms attach securely to either side of the door or room frame, and from the arms is a long band similar to a bungee cord. At the bottom of the band is a safe seat that the baby is placed in. When the baby is in the seat, he or she will resemble standing up.

The bungee band helps the baby to bounce up and down. This type of baby bouncer is very easily taken down and transported, making it a great option to take on a trip or over to the babysitter or grandparents’ house.

Both types of baby bouncers are designed particularly for babies and as such they are very safe and hold the baby securely and tightly. If you are looking to buy a baby bouncer, they are available wherever other baby supplies are sold, such as Babies “R” Us. They can also be found at stores like Wal-Mart and Target in the baby section.

If you have time to bargain shop, you may find a baby bouncer at Marshalls or T.J.Maxx. Of course, baby bouncers are also available online if you have the time to place an order and wait for it to be shipped to you. However, if you have a crying baby on your hands, you may want your baby bouncer as soon as possible.
